Present and future needs of clients, capabilities of trainers and the societal context change the way to deliver psychodrama beyond adaptation to time. What will be lasting of the inheritance of J.L. and Z. Moreno? What can be added without a fundamental shift? Or is it even possible to create an additional new psychodrama framework in the second century of its existence?

Jochen, the coauthor of the English version of “Fundamentals Of Psychodrama” (Springer Nature 2021, now translated into Estonian 2026) and founder of the Springer Nature book series on Psychodrama in Counselling, Coaching and Education (https://link.springer.com/series/16448) had been Psychodrama trainer in India from 2012 to 2020 for 4 months every year. On his research on the encounter of Psychodrama with Indian philosophy, religion, and mystics he wrote “Psychodrama in India” (Springer 2027). Developing new aspects of Psychodrama in this encounter he will conduct an interactive and need-based workshop with the participants to experience these new approaches and methodologies fist hand. After experience, he will reflect the outcome and assist the transfer into one´s own practise.

Methods used: The workshop will be interactive group- and protagonist centred Humanistic Psychodrama with added methodologies from Indian context for the use in the WEST. The steps will be: Warming up (may-be “colourful morning round”); Group work (maybe the special sociodrama: “Play of Gods”); issue-based protagonist play; reflection on the experience and
transfer to own work.
